Featuring historical exhibits - "Where the Delta Meets the Ozarks" and "Region on the Move" - and archival materials from 12 counties that comprised the original 1820 Independence County. Active program of temporary exhibits and special events year-round; expanded Civil War exhibit; housed in a former National Guard Armory built as WPA Project in 1936; constructed of locally quarried sandstone. Changing exhibits, gift shop, varying programs.
